Quality

The Quality and Patient Safety Team works across Redditch and Bromsgrove CCG and Wyre Forest CCG to ensure that safe, effective and high quality health services are commissioned and delivered for our local populations. Quality is at the heart of each of the CCG’s values and we make it a priority to maintain a focus on high quality care and patient outcomes. The team aim to promote a culture of openness and transparency where identified concerns or incidents are learnt from and where a culture of service improvement is influenced across the health and social care community. The team place the needs of local people at the centre of all that it does and works hard to ensure that we learn from patients and public experiences of care.

   Culture of Quality

The first  ‘Culture of Quality’ event was organised in May 2013 in response to the recent findings from the The Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Public Inquiry emphasising the need to develop the right culture of care within the NHS - more information

Our Vision

At NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) our vision is, 

'Working together to promote high quality, affordable healthcare'

Our priorities

One of our key priorities is to improve the health of our patients by working together to  commission high quality, value for money healthcare services. 

To achieve high quality care in the next financial year, NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove Clinical Commissioning Group, in partnership with our key stakeholders has produced a draft quality and patient safety strategy that reflects national standards and includes key recommendations from the recent Mid Staffordshire NHS Trust Public Inquiry.

   Projects the team are currently working on:

Pressure Ulcers

The ‘React to Red Skin’ campaign launched across the county on Thursday 17 November, which is International Stop the Pressure Day and is aimed at educating staff, patients and public about the signs and symptoms of pressure ulcers.

As part of this campaign Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust kindly gave us permission to modify a pressure ulcer prevention video that they’ve produced.

The Workforce campaign aims to address current recruitment and retention difficulties in medicine, nursing and social work through a targeted approach to market careers in public services and encourage qualified health or social care professionals to return to practice.

Hydration

The Stay Hydrated, Stay Healthy campaign aims to ensure patients, staff and the public are aware of the importance of hydration, the best ways to stay hydrated and the types of drinks available to help with hydration. By doing this, the aim is to help people stay healthier and avoid unnecessary admissions to hospital.
