Be prepared - order repeat prescriptions early

Easter prescriptions

As Easter approaches NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is reminding patients to be prepared and stock-up on any medication that they need over the extended bank holiday weekend.

GP surgeries will be closed and pharmacies will have limited opening hours between Thursday evening (13 April) and Tuesday morning (18 April), so patients, especially those with long-term conditions, are encouraged to order and collect their repeat prescriptions in plenty of time.
Repeat prescriptions can be ordered online by using GP Online Services, a simple website that can also be used to make and cancel appointments and view medical records. If you are not already registered, you can find out more or ask for a registration form from your GP Practice.  If you take two forms of photo ID in to the surgery they can sign you up there and then.

Dr Richard Davies, Chair and Clinical Lead for NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove CCG said: “In order to stay well, patients should make sure they have enough medicine for over the Easter weekend.

“No one wants to end up being admitted to hospital over the bank holiday weekend, so now’s the time to get organised.”

Contact your GP practice or visit their website to find out practice opening times. Keep an eye on the NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove CCG website for information about pharmacy opening times.
